Overview
Slum Life Survival (SLS), through its Grassroots Climate Action Program (GCAP), empowers vulnerable slum communities with the knowledge, skills, and resources to address climate change, adopt sustainable practices, and build resilience. We promote grassroots climate action, green entrepreneurship, and eco-friendly solutions that protect livelihoods and the environment.
In many urban communities, residents live in low-lying areas that are highly vulnerable to flooding and waterlogging. Heavy rainfall can lead to severe flooding, spreading pollutants and increasing exposure to malaria and waterborne diseases, further threatening the health and well-being of already vulnerable communities.
